History
In 1874 was elaborated a project which consisted in reaching two objectives. The first one was about starting an industrial production of lime, because there were unlimited reserves of limestone in the zone, to recover clays from the excavations to build tiles and to use lignite found during the excavations. The second, as the same time of the first one, was about building a mining/industrial village in short times which has responded to all the various logistic and administrative needings. |

In 1875 production started at hte same time of the construction of the first installment composed by Villa Rosa (by the name of the owner's wife Mrs. Rosa), the center, composed by stores, church clerks residences and offices. And those offices, well restructured, now have been transformed into Villino "Le Palme" apartments. The entire complex, enlarged lately, has remained active alternatively until the end of the second world war offering important occupational possibilities not only in Murlo territory but also in the near zones. |
